Cacao with book

The weekend is here, and there's nothing more comforting than sipping my nourishing ceremonial cacao while reading a good book. I bought this piece originally for my daughter, but as it turns out, I somehow needed it more. Funny how things work like that, right? So here goes my honest thoughts on this very impactful little blue book.

As a stay-at-home mom finally stepping into the world of content creation, reading The Journey by James Norbury felt like a sign, a gentle nudge from the universe—reminding me that it’s okay to start where I am, to embrace the unknown, and to trust the process. It's not easy to maintain confidence when you have no idea what you're doing... yet LOL.

Anyway, Norbury’s storytelling, told through his beautiful illustrations, resonated deeply. The way he presents profound wisdom in such a simple (and as you know here at TSLF, we LOVE simplicity!), digestible way makes it feel like a chicken soup for the soul. It's such an unexpected source of comfort. As a mom, I’ve spent years pouring into my family, often putting my own dreams on hold (to be honest, I don't even know what my dreams are anymore after so many years 😅). This book reminded me that my own journey is just as important, I may be late to the game, but from now on, every small step forward matters.

One of the themes that really stood out for me, was the idea of letting go of fear. Taking this leap into content creation feels vulnerable—what if I’m not good enough? What if no one cares? What if I fail to make something out of it? But Norbury’s gentle philosophy reassures me that the journey itself is where the magic happens. It’s not about rushing to a destination; it’s about growing, learning, and finding joy in each step. It's about finding myself in the process.

I also loved how the book emphasized kindness—toward ourselves and others. As a mom, it’s easy to be patient with my kids, but I can be incredibly harsh on myself. This book reminded me to extend that same grace inward. It's hard! But I promised myself I will try to be kinder to myself this year onwards.

Overall, The Journey by James Norbury felt like a perfect companion for this new chapter of my life. If you're looking for a heartfelt read that brings peace and perspective, this might just be what you need. It’s a book I’ll most likely revisit often, especially on days when doubt creeps in. Because no matter how scary or uncertain things feel, the journey is always worth taking. 💛 Highly recommended, especially for those quiet reflective moments.
