You know, I’ve been thinking a lot about this self discovery journey I’m on lately. For so many years, I was focused on caring for my family, keeping everything together, and making sure everyone else was okay, and in the process I lost sight of something important: myself.
But this year, I'm determined to better myself. It’s an easy thing to overlook when you’re juggling the chaos of everyday life, but deep down, I know that it’s time to reconnect with who I am outside of these roles. So I decided to create MatchaMondays as a way to make sure I take time off to simply be with myself.
A Small Ritual, A Big Impact
It may sound simple, but for me, MatchaMonday is more than just a cup of tea. It’s my way of slowing down, of taking a moment to breathe, reflect, and set the tone for the week ahead. For so long, I thought the best way to start the week was to hit the ground running. It was all about the to-do lists, the meal prepping, the errands that needed to be done. But since MatchaMonday, I’ve found that taking a moment for myself first is a great way to remind myself that it’s okay to take a step back and check in with myself.
But.............. this little ritual isn't just about me, though. It’s about all of us.
Connecting with Other Women on the Journey
When I first started this practice, I realized something even more powerful—I'm not alone in this. There are so many women, especially Stay-At-Home moms, who are on their own journeys of self-discovery. So many of us spend years focusing on others, running on autopilot, managing households, taking care of everyone else—and in the process, we forget to check in with ourselves.
But here’s the thing: we deserve to show up for ourselves too. We deserve moments of pause, moments to reflect, moments to just be. Between school runs, playdates, and never-ending laundry, it can be so easy to forget about your own well-being. And that’s why days like MatchaMondays is important. It could be TakeCareTuesdays for you, WellnessWednesdays for others, or SelfCareSaturdays, call it what you want. Use it as a space to reconnect with yourself, to reconnect, reflect, and nourish our hearts and minds together.
Whether you’re a stay-at-home mom like me, a working mom, or simply someone who is juggling all the hats in life, we deserve this time for ourselves.
Let’s Share, Learn, and Grow Together
So, this blog post is an invitation—an invitation to join me on this journey of self-care, reflection, and connection. If you’re someone who’s been feeling like they’re running on empty, I want you to know you’re not alone.
Let’s make MatchaMonday more than just a tea ritual. Let’s make it a space where we can share our stories, learn from each other, and grow together. Because when we take time to show up for ourselves, we’re better able to show up for those we love ❤️✨
Larn to take care of you, mama. Because you definitely deserve it ❤️
